Beachbody has been part of my life for almost 10 years. When I was in high school my cousin introduced me to P90x. At the time I was new to the fitness world, my routine included walking on the treadmill uphill. Needless to say P90x kicked my butt! I loved Tony Horton and the energy he brought towards working out. I was learning new moves without the embarrassment of going to the gym and making a fool of myself. For the young impressionable me, not being embrassed was huge.
I can remember going to the beach with a group of my older sisters friends and them being wowed by my tight toned body. That was a huge confidence builder when your used to being the shadow of your sister who naturally had a great body. I continued my Beachbody journey throughout college and never gained the freshman 15. I commuted 1 hour to school in the city and 1 hour back. I would wake up super early, workout for a hour, pack my healthy homemade meals, and go to school.
I got married young and moved into a apartment. My beloved P90x DVD’s had to stay at my parents since they were my moms. Our apartment had a gym so I did my best to keep up my workouts. The pounds slowly started creeping on, “happy weight” my mother-in-law would call it, when you first get married and gain weight. I was beginning to think I was just getting older, my teenage body was being replaced with a adult body. Finally I decided to buy my own P90x tapes…I was back! Waking up every morning, kicking butt with my workouts, and feeling great!
Life happened, we moved again, and my hubby convinced me to join a local gym with him. This gym is a stable in our beach community and has been around forever, the staff is amazing, the workouts are great, and the atmosphere is perfect. At first I was super nervous to go to a real gym and get out of my comfort zone of working out in my living room. I loved the classes and learned a lot about form and where my body strengths and weaknesses are.
I got knocked up and felt awful for the first trimester. I could not workout for the life of me, I would get dizzy and feel like I was going to puke. Luckily the second and third trimester was a breeze and I worked-out until the day I gave birth.
Me in my 3rd trimester
After the baby I was determined to loose the weight. 15 pounds clung to my lower belly, hips, and thighs. I though I was going to be able to bounce back no problem. I had everything going in my favor: I was young, I worked out throughout my pregnancy, I had gained 35 pounds (which was normal), and I was breastfeeding. At my 6 week postpartum mark I was off to the gym to work out. After a few months nothing came off. I was pissed. I was killing myself working out all the time and trying to eat well. I felt hungry all the time due to breastfeeding and I was exhausted from waking up in the middle of the night to feed my little one and wakeup early to workout before heading to work.
The summer after I had my little one.
At 9 months I stopped breastfeeding. Again I thought, the weight is going to come off no problem….boy was I wrong. The last 15 pounds would not leave! My best friend, who was with me throughout my journey, watched me struggle and introduced me to Beachbody’s new product the 21 Day Fix. It was a 30 minute fitness program paired with portion controlled containers. I started my first 21 day challenge and lost 3 pounds. I was so excited! I have a small frame so 3 pounds is huge on me. I imedatly got a group together for support and we have on our 4th or 5th round of the 21 Day Fix. We just keep going because we love the program so much and it has become a lifestyle.
I have always been passionate about nutrition and thought I knew it all. Autumn’s simple approach to eating well and portion control blew my mind. I am finally able to not be so restrictive with food. I can eat bread, I can drink wine, I can eat cheese, and still loose weight. I now know how many carbohydrates, protein, fat, fruit, and vegetables my body needs to run at its best.
I was also blown away by the workouts. I don’t have to kill myself for a hour doing cardio and lifting super heavy. 30 minutes was plenty of time to shred the weight and make it so I am not starving all day long. I was having issues with my shoulders and back from going to heavy with lifting. Whenever I stick to Autumns workouts, my body feels amazing, no pain just that good burn.
I have recently upgraded to the 21 Day Fix Extreme. The workouts are amazing. I can feel every party of my body getting shredded and sculpted. My hubby who is a ex Army Ranger was wowed by how well the workouts are put together.
Since I am obsessed with how amazing Autumn is as a trainer and a workout creator I also bought Country Heat. I suck at dancing, and I am not the biggest fan of country music, but man she still kicks your A$$ even while dancing. It is so fun and upbeat, my daughter asked last night if we could workout together and do Country Heat….she is 2!
Beachbody has been the only constant to help me get the body I want. They have so many programs that fit everyone needs, the company offers so much support and rewards. I am so thankful I listened to friend, signed up as a coach, and stuck with the program. It has always been my dream and passion to help others feel there best and get to there goal weight. Now it is my reality.
My challenge group has lost so much weight together. We motivate and inspire each other everyday to push harder and eat cleaner. I am down 10 pounds, 3 dress sizes, and I have more muscle than ever before. I am 5 pounds above my pre-baby weight BUT my pre-baby cloths are to big! Muscle weighs more than fat!
If you want to get the body you have always wanted, not matter what size or age you are Beachboy can help.
